Five young Christian friends embark on a cross-country road trip. They are in search of a mysterious woman rumored to have the power to heal.

As Christians, they are skeptical about the woman they are seeking, but the clock is ticking, and finding her may be their only hope.

Close behind is a depraved ex-boyfriend, obsessed with the dark myth of vampirism, and intent on holding on to what is his—no matter what the cost.

Call To The Heart is a story of hope and faith, life and death, and the reality that occasionally angels intervene; sometimes in dramatic fashion, and not in a way that’s expected.

The story in this might be reasonably good if it were not so annoying. It is rare for me to not finish a book, no matter how badly written. I'm not sure I will ever finish this one. For someone else to say this is solidly written seems to me like they have very low standards and expectations, or a friend or family member wanting to give high ratings to help boost sales. Changing character perspectives is not the real problem, the jumping back and forth in time is not really such a problem. The message could be good, but when poor grammar, wrong words/spellings and misuse of English and writing tense (past tense / present tense etc.) is totally mixed up, the quality of the writer's skill and editing is clearly not very good. I would never pay $2.99 for this. As a free download (which it was when I got it), it still really is not worth the price. Amazon and Nook self publishing is both good and bad. It means we get many free books, it also means we get many BAD free books that would never have been accepted by any publisher, or they would have been thoroughly edited before being printed.

She checked the Internet and found that the county seat of Colfax County was in Raton. Once she found the number for the courthouse, she made the call. She was told that there is no record of a church in Angel Fire, or the entire Colfax County called Christian Pathways. She relayed this to Scott, and he said, "I think we're just going to have to go on faith. Becca, it's starting to feel a little like we're being lead, or being called, or something..."
The word is led, not lead - basic English.

"Scott, that was good," Becca smiled. "If she had only took the Bible and looked up the passage."
The word is taken not took - once again, basic English

Compare this writing to that of Jerry Jenkins, Jannette Bunn, Karen Hancocks and others, if the maximum star rating is 5, and if those professional authors are worth 5 stars, then this by contrast is worth 2 at absolute best. Maybe if this one went beyond first draft and had some real re-writing and editing it would deserve another one or two stars, but definitely not in the current state.

Call To The Heart edition by David Camden Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

In my late 20's and early 30's, I realized that there were many classic books I had not read. I immediately began to wonder what make them a "good book." In some cases I could not understand, until a friend told me that they might have been badly translated. However as I continued to think about and when I later began to teach literature, I realized that there are may things that may make a book good or bad. And as one reviewer said there are reasons to call this book bad, as he or she did.

But there were other reasons to call it good as I do. I consider the most important thing about a book is it's message or themes . The other things, mechanics, plot, characterization, etc. serve the content of the book. If those things are not adequately done, the message doesn't come through.

This book was great in it's message that we all need to put our faith in God and not other things, including ourselves. It communicated that we are all sinners in need of grace. It also had a riveting plot that demonstrated God still intervenes in the lives of me.

However, the writing is rough. There were significant grammar and punctuation errors. While the shift of time was clever, I got tired of trying keep up with the chronology. Better editing could certainly help those things. I admit I would hesitate to recommend this book to someone who knows me as a teacher without a disclaimer, but I am glad I read it.
The writing has been addressed by others, with examples given.

The theology bordered on occult or mysticism. Yes, I do believe in miracles and know that God speaks directly to people even today. That wasn't the problem. The emphasis on "self" or an individual is there even while there are disclaimers "'oh, it's not me, it's the Lord". All prayers are not answered yes, no matter how much you believe or which words you "claim". Faith prays believing and when the answer is no, faith continues to trust.
